The Synopsis of Mother Nature's Existence

Surrealism Art, my understanding in this art era was to create art that expresses your real-life and imaginary fantasies. As a person who loves the nature, I created this art with the wonders of what mother nature would look like and how can I depict her existence from the actions of the people in the real life. This is a piece in where I linked my vision of mother nature and her existence in this day and age, effects from the people's actions. I made this artwork to not just be any other artwork, but an artwork that is self-explanatory, an artwork that will promote awareness to ourselves, surroundings and society.

Art Elements are definitely crucial when creating an art piece. The elements used are the following:

Color - I used shades of violet, shades of blue, shades of green, and yellow. Originally, the yellow color was not part of the plan, but as I was finishing my art, I realized it looked fine but not great, that's why I added yellow for a pop of color and as well to give off a sense of joy, sunshine perhaps, and enlightenment. I used these colors with meaning and as well to give my art a sense of fresh, serene, and ethereal vibe or feeling. Looking back at the color wheel, violet and yellow are at the opposite ends of each other, which means they won't mix, but won't clash as well, both will pop at each other. Hence, I made a flower arrangement with violet and yellow flowers, probably small tint of blues as well. Meanwhile, blue is beside green making the sense these colors are compatible in one frame, therefore I mostly used them on the skin of the woman and the background, these color will also represent our nature, which is green for the trees and the plants, and blue for the water. Using shades of green means hope, it expresses the hope of having new beginnings. Shades of violet, it said the  color violet were considered as the color of royalty, so I used this to express a royalty figure from the mother nature. Shades of Blue, expresses sadness, the sadness of seeing the effects from the actions of the people to the mother nature.

Line - Used line art for the image of mother nature, to give off a minimalistic, movement, and complex feeling at the same time. I believe using line move as well, as it emphasizes the women in the picture, and how I depicted mother nature in these times. From the flowers and leaves sides, to the fading fading effect on the other side. Purposely decided to have half of the face only, for I could totally emphasize the fading or losing effect.

Texture - The art is digitally made, but I want it to feel like it is hand-painted. I added details like the leaves, flowers, and more, in which it could give off a texture that it is hand-painted using watercolor.

Principles of Art that I used are the following:

Balance - Balance was expressed by having a symmetrical embodiment of mother nature. From the leaves and flowers to the fading effect, symbolizing what needed to be preserved and taken care more on the left, while on the right expressed that we're losing and destroying mother nature.

Emphasis - I believe I created not just one focal point in this art, but two instead. As you see, there is a divided symmetrical feature on the art work. The first focal point is my beautiful embodiment of mother nature, with the leaves and bloomed flowers, this emphasized how beautiful nature is and a persuade in kind of way as well, to make the viewers realized what kind of beauty we are losing. The second focal point is obviously the fading and losing effect of mother nature, this will also be an eye opener as well, to make us people realize how our undisciplined actions effected the beauty and health of mother nature.

Rhythm/Movement - I first emphasized movement/rhythm in the bloomed flowers portion, I wanted it to give off a sense that there are still flowers and plants blooming and growing, giving hope that we can still save our mother nature if we just preserve or take more care of our nature. Second is the fading effect on the face of the women, I didn't just wanted it to be half of the face gone, therefore I edited it and made the face scattered on the other side, to give movement and have the words "fading/losing" make sense more. Lastly is the falling petals, quite same with the reason of the second movement that I just stated before this, the falling petals emphasized of how we're losing mother nature.

Proportion - Like Balance, made mother nature's symmetrical embodiment, from the foliage and blossoms to the fading effect, represents what we still have left and how we are losing and destroying mother nature.
